Conexus Christmas Party 2011

On Friday 16th December, the Conexus Team learned to fly thanks to Flight Experience Flight Simulator.  Much hilarity ensued as each team member tried to successfully fly and land a Boeing 737at the 'old' Hong Kong airport, an airport well known for its very difficult and dangerous landing.

The Christmas celebrations continued on into the night, with pilot uniforms and planes being swapped for evening wear and limousines.  An amzing dinner at Bretts Wharf included a surprise visit from Santa who handed out our fantastic secret santa presents.

First Aid Course

On Monday 21st November the Conexus Crew were all wrapped up becoming certified first aiders by hosting a one day first aid course at the office.

As well as learning how to wind a good head bandage we also learnt CPR techniques, treatments for stings and bites and how best to assist people during emergency situations.

Safety Alignment Workshop - South Korea

In August 2011 Andrew travelled to South Korea to run a Safety Alignment Workshop with senior leaders from Teekay Petrojarl, Samsung Heavy Industries and BG Norway.

Conexus Summitt, June 2011

The Conexus team went up, up and away during their 2011 Summitt in the Hunter Valley.  An early morning hot air balloon ride allowed us to experience the stunning scenery, whilst the wine tasting and sumptuous food allowed us to sample all the fabulous flavours the valley has to offer.

Sail Away with the Conexus Crew, April 2011

The Conexus Crew and their customers took to the seas aboard the South Passage for a day sail to Moreton Island.  Much fun was had by all, with plenty of good food, good company and good sailing weather.

Here our fearless leader Andrew, guides the boat through the choppy seas of Moreton Bay

The Conexus Crew staying fit and healthy on the Bridge to Brisbane. Cath, Andrew & Scott got an early start in the 10km

run, while the rest of the team opted for a sleep in and the shorter 5km course.

Rodeo Time, August 2009

As we get to spend so much time away from home, we like to participate in community events at the different towns we travel to. Here are Andrew, LA,

Cath & Scott and their cowboy hats with Xstrata at the Mt Isa Rodeo - the largest rodeo in the southern hemisphere.

Conexus Summit, June 2009

A glamorous awards night to finish off the 2009 Conexus Strategy Summit. A quiet night had by all.

Brisbane City Romp, October 2008

Always looking for an excuse to dress up, Conexus took to the Brisbane streets for the Brisbane City Romp,

dressed as jellybeans and 'thinking as one team'!

Strategy Summit, June 2008

The Conexus Team at our Strategy Summit in June 2008.

Not only did we set some

clear direction for our future, we solved a murder mystery along the way!

Hear and Say Centre

Conexus has been a very proud supporter of the Hear and Say Centre for the past two years, supporting the wonderful work they do with hearing

impaired children. We have sponsored a child to undertake their full program, providing them with an opportunity to develop speech and language skills so that they can participate in mainstream education, employment and social activities. For more information on the work the Centre does, go to: Hear and Say Centre

Louyse goes 'POP', April 2008

Louyse's dedication and hard work were recognised last month when she received a 'Passionate Office Professionals' Award

at a Brisbane POP Event. Although she was a little disappointed she didn't get the diamond earrings, we had a fabulous lunch and she received a gorgeous, very large vase which will require filling with gorgeous, very large flowers (note to Darren!).

Lessons from Harvard, April 2008

LA attended the Women's Leadership Forum at Harvard in Boston during April. The theme of the program was 'Innovation for a Changing World',and provided a lot of stimulating leadership ideas and models to put into practice at Conexus.

It was an inspiring week learning from women around the world, including a strong Aussie contingent which is already providing good support now we are back home.

Snow Times, December 07 & February 08

LA & Scott travelled to Salt Lake City in December & February respectively to deliver the 'Working Together' program for Rio

Tinto Shared Services & Information Services groups. Between them they delivered 8 programs to almost 200 participants. The view from the training room was a little different than what they were used to!

Andrew's MO, Movember 2007

Thank goodness it was for a good cause!

The normally dashing Andrew grew a moustache

for Movember, raising over $1500 from sponsors which Conexus then matched for each dollar. The money went to the very important cause of raising awareness of men's health and depression issues. Apparently he was not seen with his teenage daughters much during the month...

Conexus Sponsors the AHRI HR Practices Day, Thursday 22nd February 2007

Conexus was pleased to sponsor the Australian Human Resource Institute's HR Practices Day for 2007, with the theme for this year's conference being 'Delivering Practical Business Outcomes'. We got everyone's brain cells going early over breakfast, with our customised Conexus puzzles. If you are still trying to solve the puzzle, give us a call for the solution!

As always, it was a successful day, focusing on the practical application of HR in organisations and a great opportunity to network with other HR professionals from around Queensland and learn about the challenges and solutions being developed by businesses across a range of industries.

Conexus Takes Off!

To celebrate the launch and rebranding of Conexus in July 2006, some of the Conexus team took to the skies of Brisbane for an early morning balloon flight.

It was a great way to get a new perspective on our city and, after a rather eventful landing, the champagne breakfast was much appreciated.

Circumplexes in the Sand

The team at Conexus is certainly flexible.

With flip chart, coloured pens and great facilitation

skills we can put a program on the ground anywhere. Scott demonstrates the tough gigs - facilitating a leadership retreat for the team at Gemco on the beautiful Groote Eylandt.

International Adventures

On his trips to the US for Rio Tinto, Andrew again shows his level of commitment and determination in dealing with all challenges that come his way.

Whether it is having to drive a Mustang Convertible across the US or ski some of the best ski fields in Salt Lake City with his customer while the rest of us swelter in a Queensland summer -

he does it with the style and flair for which he is renowned.

As part of our commitment to our community, we choose to sponsor ACT for Kids, providing financial donations as well entering into a partnership where we will provide pro-bono services and volunteer time for fundraising activities.  Lesley-Anne is also a member of the ACT for Kids board.
