Lesley-Anne Houghton
General Manager

Lesley-Anne has extensive leadership consulting and coaching experience, having worked with leaders and teams across a range of organisations in Australia and overseas, including Westpac, Rio Tinto, Thiess, Suncorp, Wesfarmers and Xstrata. Her ability to effectively connect with and engage people enables her to lead teams and individuals through sometimes challenging development experiences.

Lesley-Anne enjoys the creative process, and her strong research and design capabilities allow her to design programs which deliver specific outcomes for each customer.

In addition to consulting, LA is also responsible for managing the Conexus business and ensuring that our team continues to deliver outstanding results for our customers, and that we maintain and continue to develop our strong professional expertise.

Lesley-Anne has lifetime accreditation in the Human Synergistics tools - Organisational Culture Inventory (OCI) and Lifestyles Inventory (LSI); and is also accredited in Situational Leadership, DiSC, and Team Management Systems. She is one of Australia's most experienced practitioners in analysing and reporting OCI results.

Her ongoing challenge is learning how to balance her work and life, which includes Masters Studies in writing at UQ, two teenage daughters, one manic husband, a cat and learning to ride a motorbike.

What is the best thing about the consulting work you do?

Making a contribution to the achievements of individuals and teams and supporting them to grow both personally and professionally. Being inspired by the courage and commitment of the people we work with across such a diverse range of organisations.

What do businesses need to focus on to be successful in today's competitive environment?

Authentic leadership, integrity, innovation and accountability. These are all essential drivers for businesses to be successful into the future.

What is your favourite holiday destination?

Byron Bay and the Blues & Roots Festival at Easter; Christmas in New York and camping any time.

What book are you currently reading?

'Eats, Roots Shoots & Leaves' by Lyn Truss - a HILARIOUS book about grammar and punctuation! Also 'The Big Sleep' by Raymond Chandler, an oldie but a goodie.

If you didn't do this kind of work, what would you be doing?

I'd like to be writing, studying and playing golf, but would probably be an accountant.
