What is the best thing about the consulting work you do?

The opportunity to make a difference and have a positive impact upon individuals, teams and organisations. There is also the variety of people you meet and the different projects to be involved in.

What do businesses need to focus on to be successful in today's competitive environment?

The focus needs to be on a number of things. Flexibility is critical in a fast changing world. Understanding your customers' changing needs is another. But the biggest impact upon any organisation is quality leadership that sets a clear direction, engages the team and holds them accountable.

What is your favourite holiday destination?

A beach and the family together.

What is your favourite book?

Currently reading Ian Rankin's Inspector Rebus series. Good plots, good characters and a great escape at the end of the day from the pressure of work.

If you didn't do this kind of work, what would you be doing?

Spend more time with family and friends, do more bushwalking and travel.
